Trainer Phil Kirby is now excited about seeing his two stable stars Lady Buttons and Best Ville Ben kick off their various attempts on bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby.
Leading Ville Ben is a winner over fences in the West Yorkshire circuit and has been aimed itself, with rounded off his rookie campaign with an effort to finish third behind Topofthegame and Lostintranslation in Aintree.
The commendable Lady Buttons has won 12 races for Kirby and is set to bid for a fourth victory at Wetherby from the OLBG.com Mares’ Hurdle – a race she won last year and finished second in behind La Bague Au Roi at 2017.
Kirby told Sky Sports Racing:”They are both doing loads of cantering. No fast work has been done by them however, but they wouldn’t be a million miles off. They look extremely well and they’ll both be aimed in the Charlie Hall assembly.
“Best Ville Ben will run at the Charlie Hall and Lady Buttons will won at the Future race she won a year. Everything has gone perfectly to plan so far, we have just got to keep it like that.
“Buttons will perform a very similar point to last year – she will start off at Wetherby, and perhaps visit Newbury and go to Doncaster for all those Listed races and the big prize-money. Where we finish up at the end of the season, we’ll see.
“For Top Ville, the plan was always to visit the Charlie Hall to begin with. We’ll see how he has on, but when he is aggressive, he could always head to Newbury for your Hennessy (Ladbrokes Trophy).”
